This document presents a start up tutorial to guide new Ximdex users to exploit Xedit ximLINK manager.
In order to be able to follow this guide, it is advisable to have a document opened with Xedit .

1. Select the document element which will contain the link - normally a "paragrah" element.
2. Highlight the words to become link.
3. Choose one of the following steps:
   1. To create a new ximLINK:
      1. Choose one of the following ways to get the ximLINK detail form:
         1. Rightclick the highlighted words, and select the "Aplicar:link" menu option.
         2. Click the "Añadir link" option from the "Elementos disponibles" right toolbox.
      2. In the "Atributos" right toolbox, in the "a_enlaceid_url" form:
         1. Fill the "Nombre" field with the ximLINK name (node name).
         2. Fill the "Url" field with the url which will be the link destiny.
         3. Fill the "Text" field with the words which will appear underlined in the document, pointing to the link destiny.
         4. Press the "Actualizar" button.
      3. Note: In the "Atributos" right toolbox, a link to an internal doc could be also defined, using the "id" form
      4. Save the document pressing the button
   2. To add a link without creating a new ximLINK:
      1. Choose one of the following ways to get the link detail form:
         1. Rightclick the highlighted words, and select the "Aplicar:extlink" menu option.
         2. Click the "Añadir link externo" option from the "Elementos disponibles" right toolbox.
      2. In the "Atributos" right toolbox:
         1. Fill the "Href" field with the url which will be the link destiny.
         2. Press the "Actualizar" button.
      3. Save the document pressing the button
      4. Note: This will not create a ximLINK node, but it will define a link once the document has been published.

   1. Choose one of the following ways to get the ximLINK detail form:
      1. Rightclick the highlighted words, and select the "Aplicar:link" menu option.
      2. Click the "Añadir link" option from the "Elementos disponibles" right toolbox.
   2. In the "Atributos" right toolbox, press the "Buscar" button.
   3. Then a new small window will appear with the ximLINK searcher. Fill the "Buscar" text box with the url (or part of if) to add. Then, the suggested links will appear in the pulldown menu named "Enlaces".
   4. Select one of the pre-existing links (suggested), and select one of its available descriptions (shown in the pulldown menu named "Descripciones").
   5. Press the "Aceptar" button.
   6. Save the document pressing the button

1. In order to use a ximLINK previously defined, a ximLINK search should be carried out, as just described above. Once the mentioned process has been performed, the ximLINK properties can be updated using the "Atributos" right toolbox properties.
2. Both "Nombre", "Url" and "Text" fields can be updated with new values. New descriptions for previously created links, or even new links, will be defined automatically on the system once the document has been saved.
3. Save the document pressing the button

In order to delete a link created by a ximLINK:

1. Rightclick the link to delete, and select the "Non apply:link" option from the option menu.
2. Save the document pressing the button
